A monthly, Marion County, Iowa Publication.
Your hometown shopper and more.
A little about this paper, it’s owner and editor…
Hello there! First off, I will start with why I started this venture in May of 2023. A local shopper is needed in this area. While the digital age is convenient and welcome by some, others of us are still “old school”. We like pick up the paper and find exactly where we left off without having to scroll through a device in our palm.
I moved to Marion County in 2008. One of the first things I did to acquaint myself with what the area had to offer was flip through the shopper that showed up in my mailbox. I learned about a lot of businesses as well as events that way and I still do this when I go to other towns.
As our county continues to see growth, I hope that the Marion County Messenger can be a quick “guide” around Marion County that residents, new and old, won’t have to go hunting for.
Are you looking for a realtor? An insurance agent? A barber/hairstylist? Or are you simply looking to support those who support our community? Look no further.
Now for a little about myself. I came to Marion County from the Des Moines area after meeting my husband, a Knoxville native, through our mutual passion of sprint car racing at the Knoxville Raceway.
I fell in love with getting away from the “big city” and it didn’t take any convincing for me to stay.
We will likely never leave and are proud to be raising our two kids among these caring communities.
I hope you enjoy flipping through these pages each month and continue to support those who support our community!
Take care,
Heather Spriggs
